Featuring high-quality optics and meticulous finishing, this new model benefits from a series of much-appreciated mechanical improvements, while retaining a redesigned optical formula with a focal ratio reduced to f/7 for even more versatile use.

Available for pre-order - delivery scheduled for October 2025.

Lenses redesigned for photography and visuals

Unlike the previous f/9 version, the new Evostar 100EDX adopts a shorter focal ratio of f/7ideal for deep-sky photography. The doublet lens uses Japanese ED Ohara FPL-53a product renowned for its ability to virtually eliminate chromatic aberration.

Thanks to the exclusive MHTC (Metallic High Transmission Coating)Each optical surface offers exceptional light transmission of 99.5 %, ensuring a dark sky background and remarkable sharpness, even at high magnification.

Reinforced, modern mechanics

The mechanics have been completely revised with a Crayford 2.8″ dual-speed 11:1 eyepiece holdermounted on a 360° rotating adapter with scale. The sliding mist guard and collars with carrying handle make them easy to use in the field. The tube is made of aluminum with internal light shields for optimum contrast.

A tube optimized for travel

Despite its 100 mm aperture, the optical tube (OTA) weighs just 5.5 kg, making it easy to transport and compatible with many equatorial mounts. For astrophotographers, a reducer / corrector 0.92x (ref. 20332, optional) is available to optimize the flat field and reduce exposure time.

Sky-Watcher Evostar 100EDX technical specifications

Technical specifications

Lens type

Apochromatic refractor (Doublet ED)

Opening

100 mm

Focal length

700 mm

Focal ratio

f/7

Max. useful magnification

200x

Lens holder

Crayford 2" dual-speed 11:1, 360° rotatable

Fog screen

Sliding

Tube weight

5.5 kg

Tube length

570 mm (fog shield retracted), 675 mm (extended)

Light transmission

99.5 % with MHTC treatment

Tube material

Aluminum with internal light shields

Box contents

Sky-Watcher Evostar 100EDX optical tube

Clamps with carrying handle

Vixen dovetail (prism rail 45 mm)

Aluminium carrying case

Important notes

This telescope is supplied without eyepiece, angled bend and finder. These accessories are available separately to suit your needs.

Why choose Evostar 100EDX?

New, faster f/7 optics for enhanced imaging performance

FPL-53 ED glass for optimum chromatic correction

Robust construction, top-of-the-range finishes

High-end focuser with rotation and microfocuser

Multi-purpose telescope for visual and astrophotography

An excellent compromise between performance and portability

Visit Sky-Watcher Evostar 100EDX is one of the best apochromatic glasses in its category.
