It features the famous Sony IMX662 backlit (BSI), renowned for its extremely low read noisehis very high sensitivity and excellent high-speed performance.

Sony IMX662 sensor: a modern planetary reference

  • Sony IMX662 monochrome sensor (BSI) No Bayer matrix, each pixel captures light directly for maximum signal.

USB 3.0 and buffer memory: maximum fluidity at high speeds

The G3M662M is equipped with a USB 3.0 coupled with a 512 MB DDR3 buffer memory. This architecture guarantees :

  • a stable, continuous flow of images,
  • reduced image loss at high frame rates,
  • more reliable capture on laptops or mini-PCs.

At full resolution, the camera can reach approx. 100 frames per second in 8-bit mode, and even more so using a KING (Region of Interest).

Self-guidance and secondary uses

Thanks to its sensitivity and low noise, the G3M662M can also be used for :

  • self-guidance with guide glasses or OAG,
  • applications’EAA or short exposures on shiny objects, depending on the instrument used.

A ST-4 port is present to guide the frame directly if necessary.
