Sky-Watcher HAC125DX + EQ-AL55i PRO mount: the ultra-fast, compact new-generation astrograph

The Sky-Watcher HAC125DX + EQ-AL55i PRO Minigraph mount is a revolutionary astrograph designed for astrophotography enthusiasts in search of speed, compactness and performance. Thanks to its innovative design Honders Advanced Catadioptric (HAC), It combines refractive and reflective optical elements to offer a unique instrument on the market.

With its compact size and exceptional performance, this model fully deserves its nickname of “Ultimate Grab-and-Go Astrograph”, ideal for fast, efficient sessions under the starry sky.

Ultra-fast f/2 optics for images in record time

The main advantage of the HAC125DX is its extremely fast f/2 focal ratio, combined with a 250 mm focal length. This speed makes it possible to capture images up to 5 times faster than a conventional f/4.9 instrument.

In concrete terms, this means :

  • More signal in less time
  • Shorter, more efficient imaging sessions
  • Fewer tracking constraints and often no autosteering

With its 125 mm diameter, This astrograph offers excellent light-gathering capacity while remaining extremely portable.

Advanced HAC optical design

The system Honders advanced catadioptric uses a Mangin mirror combined with corrective lenses, guaranteeing sharp, high-contrast, well-corrected images over the whole field.

Top-of-the-range optical coatings enhance this performance:

  • RAQ™ (Radiant Aluminum Quartz) mirror coating for excellent reflectivity
  • HTMC™ corrective treatment to maximize light transmission

The 16 mm image circle is ideally suited to modern compact sensors, such as IMX533 and IMX585, for excellent star rendering.

Optimized for modern astrophotography

The HAC125DX has been designed for use with lightweight cameras (up to 300 g), This ensures perfect balance and avoids any obstruction of the light beam.

The new helical rear focusing system on the primary mirror considerably improves precision and compatibility with different sensors. Compared with the previous model, this evolution enables more flexible and comfortable to use.

Sa compact length of just 40 cm and its weight 3.82 kg make it an ideal solution for astrophotographers on the move.

EQ-AL55i PRO SynScan mount: precision and automation

The HAC125DX is combined with the EQ-AL55i PRO SynScan Go-To equatorial mount, a modern, high-performance solution for tracking celestial objects.

Thanks to its integrated Wi-Fi module, It's easy to control via smartphone with the SynScan Pro (iOS and Android). It provides access to a database of more than 10,000 celestial objects, including :

  • Catalogs Messier, NGC, IC and Caldwell
  • Named stars and double stars
  • Planets, Sun and Moon

The frame also features a illuminated polar viewfinder for precise alignment, as well as multiple interfaces (USB-C, autoguiding, SNAP for DSLRs), offering great versatility.

The 1.75-inch stainless steel tripod ensures excellent stability, essential for long exposure imaging.

A ready-to-use nomadic astrograph

The HAC125DX is supplied with all essential accessories:

  • 1.25-inch Adapter
  • Adapter M42x0.75
  • Fog screen
  • Dovetail clamps

Its compact design and speed of use make it perfect for spontaneous imaging sessions. Simply install it on a portable mount and start capturing the sky in minutes.

Why choose the Sky-Watcher HAC125DX?

The HAC125DX Minigraph is a unique instrument that combines extreme speed, compactness and advanced technology. It is designed for beginner astrophotographers who want to simplify their sessions experienced users looking for a fast, high-performance setup.

Its ability to produce quality images in a minimum amount of time, without cumbersome follow-up constraints, makes it a particularly attractive tool. Compact, powerful and innovative, it redefines the standards of mobile astrography.

Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions

What can you see with the Sky-Watcher HAC125DX?

Is it easy to carry?

Il reste transportable en voiture : le tube pèse environ 3,82 kg et la tête de monture 3,8 kg, le trépied 5,7 kg et les contrepoids 5,3 kg (environ 14,8 kg au total).

Should we aim it at him?

Rarely: The lens is factory-calibrated. To check, look at the shape of the stars in the corners of the first few images.

Can we take pictures?

Yes: The motorized equatorial mount tracks the movement of the sky, allowing for long exposures of the Moon, the planets, and bright deep-sky objects.

What's in the box?

HAC 125 mm f/2 optical tube, anti-fog cover with cable grommet, 1.25″ adapter, T2 adapter, EQ-AL55i Pro mount, 1.75″ stainless steel tripod with accessory plate, 1.8 kg and 3.5 kg counterweights.

Does the Sky-Watcher HAC125DX + EQ-AL55i PRO Mount come with a power supply?

No. The Sky-Watcher EQ-AL55i Pro mount does not come with a power supply. Required power supply: 12 V DC, 2 A, center-positive. For home use, we recommend the'Pegasus Astro 12 V 10 A power supply with a 5.5 × 2.1 mm plug : regulated 12.5 V output, high current reserve, and it will later be able to power a Pegasus hub (Pocket Powerbox) for the camera and the anti-fog heating elements.
