Visit Player One ACS (Active Cooling System) is an active air-cooling system designed for certain uncooled astronomical cameras.
It significantly improves temperature control of the sensor, particularly during solar imaging in broad daylight, in high temperatures, or during long acquisition sessions.
In the summer, and especially during prolonged use in direct sunlight, the internal temperature of an uncooled camera can rise significantly. When the ambient temperature exceeds 40 °C, the sensor can reach temperatures close to 60 °C.
Although Player One cameras are designed to operate under demanding conditions, excessive heat can increase thermal noise and place additional strain on the electronic components.
The ACS system then improves heat dissipation through active ventilation of the camera housing.
Many compatible Player One cameras already include the system PCS (Passive Cooling System). This transfers the heat generated by the sensor to the camera's outer housing.
The ACS module complements this system by actively dissipating the heat accumulated on the housing through a flow of air.
During the tests conducted by Player One, a camera equipped with the PCS and ACS systems maintained a temperature of approximately Only 7 °C above room temperature. The case remained slightly warm, but did not reach an excessive temperature.
The ACS system is not compatible with all uncooled cameras. To function properly, the camera must already be equipped with the passive system PCS, which allows heat to be transferred from the sensor to the outer shell.

Installing the ACS system is simple and requires only a few steps. However, be sure to carefully follow the manufacturer's instructions to position the module correctly and ensure optimal heat dissipation.
