Reference EAP-08.0
The 8 mm Plössl Eyepiece is an 8-mm astronomical eyepiece offering an apparent field of 50°. It mounts on a 1.25-inch barrel and has an eye relief of 6 mm. This configuration is ideal for observing star clusters, compact deep-sky objects, and general-purpose observing, depending on your telescope's focal length.
The Plössl formula provides a way to design a range of magnifications without seeking an extreme apparent field of view. Pay particular attention to the eye relief: it varies with the focal length and determines the position of the eye.

What is the magnification with this eyepiece?
With a telescope that has a focal length of 1,000 mm, this eyepiece provides approximately 125× magnification. The magnification is calculated by dividing the telescope’s focal length by that of the eyepiece.
Is it compatible with my telescope?
It uses a 1.25-inch mount. In a 2-inch eyepiece holder, a suitable adapter is required. The ability to focus also depends on the optical path of the accessories.
Can you observe things with glasses?
The advertised eye relief is 6 mm. Comfort when wearing glasses also depends on their shape and the position of the eye; trying them on is always better than relying on a universal guarantee.
Is the apparent field the field visible in the sky?
No. The apparent field of view of 50° describes the view through the eyepiece. The actual field of view depends on the telescope; the 6.5-mm field stop is the value to use to calculate it.
Check the focus travel, the focusing range, the weight your mount can support, and the compatibility of filters or correctors.
