Tele Vue Delos 24 mm – 72° Eyepiece

Tele Vue Delos 24 mm: Key Features

The Delos 24 mm Tele Vue is a 24-mm astronomical eyepiece offering an apparent field of 72°. It mounts on a 2-inch slip-on adapter and has an eye relief of 22 mm. This configuration is worth considering for star fields and extended deep-sky objects, depending on the focal length of your telescope.

What is this model best suited for?

The Delos series combines a 72° field of view with an adjustable eyecup. The height adjustment helps you find the correct eye position and minimizes stray light around the lens. Be sure to check the specific specifications for this focal length rather than assuming they are the same as those for another Delos model.

• Available exclusively in a 2-inch model, with a 22-mm eye relief compared to 20 mm for other Delos models.
• Parfocal with most 1.25-inch Tele Vue lenses when used with the ASF-8125 HiHat adapter.
• Adjustable and lockable windscreen.

Frequently asked questions

What is the magnification with this eyepiece?
With a telescope that has a focal length of 1,000 mm, this eyepiece provides approximately 42× magnification. The magnification is calculated by dividing the telescope’s focal length by that of the eyepiece.

Is it compatible with my telescope?
It requires a 2-inch eyepiece holder or a 2-inch right-angle mirror. It cannot be inserted directly into a 1.25-inch mount. Also check that it is securely fastened and properly balanced.

Can you observe things with glasses?
The specified eye relief is 22 mm. Comfort when wearing glasses also depends on the shape of the glasses and the position of the eye; trying them on is always better than relying on a universal guarantee. The Tele Vue chart indicates DIOPTRX compatibility; this astigmatism corrector is optional.

Is the apparent field the field visible in the sky?
No. The apparent field of view of 72° describes the view through the eyepiece. The actual field of view depends on the telescope; the 29.6-mm field stop is the value to use when calculating it.
