The M68 female adapter converts one side of the FETA M92 into an M68 × 1 female interface. The M72 version creates an M72 × 1 female interface. Each adapter attaches to the FETA using the M3 screws included in the package. Its mounting tabs allow for 360° adjustment before tightening.
To obtain two female M68 ends, the manufacturer states that two M68 adapters are required. The same rule applies to the M72 version if both ends are to have this thread. With two identical adapters installed, WandererAstro specifies an effective draw of 20 mm for the FETA assembly and adapters. This figure applies specifically to this configuration and should not be automatically applied to a different assembly.
WandererAstro specifically cites the Takahashi TOA130 and TOA150, which are equipped with an M72 thread, as typical applications for the M72 version. Before placing an order, check the thread on your telescope and the other parts of the optical train: the name of an instrument is no substitute for verifying its actual interface.
The version for Moravian C3 and C4 connects the FETA M92 to a Moravian M68 interface featuring five M3 mounting holes on the front panel. The manufacturer lists M68 adapters for C3, C4, G3, and G4 cameras, filter wheels, and the OAG MKII M68 optical splitter. Check to see if your part has these five holes and verify their layout. For an OAG MKII, confirm the exact mounting configuration before selecting this adapter.
WandererAstro explicitly states that this adapter is not compatible with the Moravian M68 OAG MKIII, which lacks the mounting holes required for this setup. The M3 screws included with the adapter are intended for the connection described by the manufacturer; follow the manufacturer’s instructions and make sure to match the camera and telescope sides as marked on the FETA.
The C5 version is designed for the Moravian M85 interface on C5 systems with seven or eight M3 holes on the front panel, such as on the camera, the filter wheel, or the M85 optical splitter. The mounting method described by WandererAstro uses two adapter pieces and the supplied M3 screws. Be sure to check the layout and number of holes on your Moravian interface before ordering.
