iOptron P-SGP-CWS 20 mm Counterweight Bar

The iOptron P-SGP-CWS counterweight bar allows you to attach a counterweight to a compatible mount to balance the installed equipment. The manufacturer designs it for use with the SkyGuider Pro, SkyHunter, and SkyTracker Pro (with counterweight kit) as well as HAE series mounts. It can also serve as a bar extension when used with a compatible mount.

The rod is 200 mm long and 20 mm in diameter. Both ends feature a 3/8-inch-16 thread, according to iOptron’s specifications. A locking screw is included. The manufacturer lists the bar’s weight as 1 lb. Before installation, check the threading on your mount or existing bar, as well as the inner diameter of the counterweight you plan to use.

When using a counterweight, it must be able to fit onto a 20-mm bar. The iOptron 3006-10 counterweight, sold separately, has a 20-mm bore according to the manufacturer’s specifications. The manuals for the HAE29C and HAE43C mounts also list the P-SGP-CWS rod and the 3006-10 counterweight among their optional accessories. When selecting a counterweight, you should also consider the specific configuration and specifications of the mount.

The safety screw provided helps secure the counterweight. The counterweight must be attached to the bar, and the mounting instructions must be followed to ensure proper balancing. The bar can also be selected as a replacement part or as an extension, provided you first check the interfaces and the available space in the installation.
