ZWO EFW 7×50 for large-format imaging
This motorized wheel holds seven 50 × 50 mm square filters. It allows you to schedule filter changes during LRGB or narrowband sequences with a compatible monochrome camera, without opening the optical train between exposures.
A separate part number for round filter wheels
The wheel shown here is the 1-kg USB 2.0 version documented by ZWO and Zumstein. It should not be confused with the 7×2-inch EFW models designed for round filters, nor with the new USB-C versions of the 25 series. The required filters are square, measuring 50 × 50 mm, and must be between 3 and 4 mm thick.
The body is CNC-machined from a solid block of aluminum, and the NPM stepper motor allows rotation in both directions. The USB 2.0 connection provides both control and power; the manufacturer specifically recommends connecting it to the USB 2.0 ports of cooled ASI cameras. Control is handled via ASCOM or the ZWO SDK.
Integration into the optical train
This wheel is particularly suitable for large-format setups combining the OAG-L-68 splitter and the ASI461 camera. Check the interfaces and optical distances of your entire setup before assembly. Increasing the filter size does not eliminate the need to check the optical paths, tightness, and rigidity of all connections.

Package Contents
The manufacturer includes the wheel, two angled USB 2.0 cables (2 m and 0.5 m), a screwdriver, ten square filter covers, the blackout rings, and the hardware. The filters are not included with this wheel alone. Be sure to install the filters in a clean environment and follow the procedure for securing them with filter covers.
