A giant, intelligent, transportable Dobson
Sky-Watcher's Skyliner 400P FlexTube SynScan Go-To Wi-Fi combines 406 mm Newton parabolic optics with a patented retractable tube. FlexTube and technology Motorized Go-To with integrated Wi-Fi. Whether you want to explore the faintest objects in the deep sky or admire the details of the planets, this telescope offers an exceptional observing experience.
Thanks to its parabolic 406 mm diameter and its 1800 mm focal length (f/4.4), this telescope captures an impressive amount of light with high resolution. RAQ™ (Radiant™ Aluminum Quartz) treatment guarantees reflectivity up to 94 %, for sharp, high-contrast images rich in detail. Whether you're pointing at a distant nebula or the bands of Jupiter, the performance is right on target.
The design Retractable FlexTube makes this large diameter easy to transport. The motorized Dobson mount is equipped with robust integrated servo motors and a Go-To SynScan control controllable via joystick or Wi-Fi from the SynScan mobile app (iOS & Android).
The Go-To system gives you automatic access to more than 42,900 celestial objects (Messier, NGC, IC, Caldwell catalogs...). Tracking is smooth and silent. The patented double encoder allows you to move the telescope manually without losing alignment - a real plus in comfort and flexibility.
⚠️ 12V power supply not included. Sky-Watcher PowerTank 17Ah recommended.
The Sky-Watcher Skyliner 400P FlexTube SynScan Go-To Wi-Fi is an exceptional telescope for visual observation enthusiasts. Thanks to its large aperture, flexible transport and assisted pointing technology, it takes you on a voyage of discovery of the sky's most beautiful objects with disconcerting ease. A top-of-the-range choice for deep-sky explorers.
The Moon in great detail and the planets: Jupiter’s bands and moons, Saturn’s rings. With a diameter of 406 mm, it captures a great deal of light: under a very dark sky, bright galaxies and nebulae become visible. Its maximum useful magnification is approximately 812× (2 × the diameter in mm); in practice, atmospheric turbulence often limits observation to lower magnifications.
No eyepiece is included with this model. The magnification is calculated by dividing the telescope's focal length (1,800 mm) by that of the eyepiece: for example, a 25-mm eyepiece provides 72× magnification.
Yes, just like any Newtonian telescope. A quick check every now and then is enough, especially after transporting it. With a collimation laser, it’s quick and easy. At f/4.4, it’s more demanding: a precise adjustment is clearly visible at high magnifications. The Sky-Watcher Collimation Guide (EN) explains the procedure.
The motorized mount tracks objects: it’s ideal for filming the Moon and the planets with a smartphone or a small planetary camera, and the entire Moon fits within the field of view at low magnification. Long exposures of the deep sky remain limited, because an azimuth mount rotates the field of view.
No. The Sky-Watcher FlexTube 400P SynScan mount does not come with a power supply. Required power supply: 12 V DC (10 to 15 V), 1 A, 2.1 mm plug (positive center). For home use, we recommend the'Pegasus Astro 12 V 10 A power supply with a 5.5 × 2.1 mm plug : regulated 12.5 V output, high current reserve, and it will later be able to power a Pegasus hub (Pocket Powerbox) for the camera and the anti-fog heating elements.
