Skywatcher STARQUEST DX127MC

Skywatcher STARQUEST DX127MC: high-resolution Maksutov telescope with Deluxe equatorial mount

The Skywatcher STARQUEST DX127MC is a high-performance telescope designed for demanding beginners and intermediate observers looking for a compact, powerful and precise instrument. Part of the STARQUEST DX series, it combines high-quality Maksutov-Cassegrain optics with a sturdy Deluxe equatorial mount, offering an excellent observing experience without compromise.

Thanks to its 127 mm diameter and compact design, this telescope is ideal for detailed observation of the solar system, while remaining easy to transport.

Maksutov-Cassegrain optics: precision and contrast

The STARQUEST DX127MC features an innovative Maksutov-Cassegrain catadioptric system, This is a combination of mirrors and a front corrective lens. This architecture makes it possible to obtain a long focal length in a short tube, facilitating transport while maintaining excellent optical performance.

With a diameter of 127 mm and a focal length of 1500 mm (f/11.8), This telescope is particularly suitable for :

• detailed observation of the Moon
• planets such as Jupiter, Saturn and Mars
• double stars

Its fully integrated optical system multilayer treated maximizes light transmission and contrast, for crisp, clear images. Coating RAQ™ provides up to 94 % reflectivity, guaranteeing long-lasting performance.

With 55 % more light than a 102 mm model, It reveals even more detail, especially on planetary objects.

STARQUEST DX Deluxe equatorial mount: stability and smooth tracking

The frame STARQUEST DX Deluxe is an equatorial mount designed for precise, comfortable tracking. After polar alignment, it allows easy tracking of celestial objects thanks to its slow motion commands on the right ascension (RA) and declination (DEC) axes.

It is equipped with :

• 360° precision gears
• clutches on both axes
• graduated circles for scoring
• worm and helical gear transmission

Its load capacity of 5 kg provides excellent stability, reinforced by a adjustable stainless steel tripod. An optional motor for the RA axis is available to automate tracking.

Compact, portable design

Thanks to its compact design, the Maksutov tube is easy to transport and install. The lightweight mount (1.4 kg head) and adjustable tripod (680 mm to 1160 mm) make this telescope particularly suitable for outdoor or travelling observations.

Its compact size makes it an excellent choice for astronomers looking for a powerful instrument without excessive bulk.

Accessories included for immediate use

The STARQUEST DX127MC comes with a complete set of accessories:

• 10 mm and 20 mm eyepieces (x75 and x150 magnifications)
• red dot finder for quick identification
• 90° angled return for optimum viewing comfort
• universal smartphone adapter (54 to 90 mm)

The smartphone adapter makes it easy to capture images of the Moon and planets, ideal for beginners in astrophotography.

Performance and global specialization

With a theoretical maximum magnification of x254, This telescope is particularly well-suited to high-magnification observations. Its long focal length makes it ideal for fine detail and high-resolution observations.

Although optimized for planetary viewing, it can also be used to observe some bright deep-sky objects, offering good versatility.

Its optical quality, stability and ease of use make it an excellent choice for rapid progress in astronomy.
