Designed for deep-sky astrophotography (galaxies, planetary nebulae) while remaining compact and lightweight, the
TS-Optics GSO 6″ Ritchey-Chrétien (154 mm, 1370 mm, f/9) offers uniform sharpness over a wide field,
stable focus and short cooling times thanks to its open tube.
Its hyperbolic mirrors in fused silica (quartz) with 94 % reflectivity treatment deliver
fine stars and sharp details, without lenses in the optical path.
Le 6″ RC délivre des fine, regular stars with cameras up to APS-C
(without corrector). For larger sensors (full format), the addition of a dedicated RC corrector is recommended.
to optimize field flatness and illumination. 94 % coating and no front glass
enable more effective exhibitions than with permanent blade/corrector systems.
The home is very affordable: about 159 mm depuis le coulant 2″.
Visit M90 bushings (50 mm + 2×25 mm) are screwed between the focuser and the tube to position
your optical train (angle drive, OAG, filter wheel, camera). Visit Crayford 2″ dual-speed
ensures fine, backlash-free MAP.
Do I need a corrector? → Up to APS-C, many users shoot without corrector.
On full-frame, a dedicated RC corrector is highly recommended for an impeccable field.
Can it be used for visuals? → Yes. The RC is designed for photography, but visually it offers
des étoiles très fines et un contraste renforcé (surtout avec de bons oculaires et un renvoi coudé 2″). Par contre, la photo planétaire n’est vraiment pas son fort du fait de son obstruction centrale.
The TS-Optics GSO 6″ RC Pro condenses the essence of professional RCs into a lightweight, affordable format.
Sharpness, MAP stability, naturally corrected field and simple integration: an excellent choice for

(corrector, reducer, OAG, filter wheels) to suit your projects.
With an open aperture of 154 mm at f/8.9 and a focal length of 1,370 mm, it is primarily an astrophotography instrument: when used with a camera, it is designed to photograph nebulae, galaxies, and clusters, offering a good balance between field of view and detail.
Yes, it's a lightweight instrument: the tube weighs about 5.4 kg and is about 50 cm long.
Yes, from time to time: a Ritchey-Chrétien telescope requires precise alignment of its two mirrors, especially after being transported. A collimation tool for a Ritchey-Chrétien telescope makes it easier to adjust, and you can then fine-tune it using a star.
Yes, that's what it's designed for: it mounts on a motorized equatorial mount (not included) with an astro camera or a regular camera. At f/8.9 and a focal length of 1,370 mm, it requires precise tracking: be sure to use autoguiding for long exposures. With a tube weighing approximately 5.4 kg (without accessories), choose a mount with a load capacity that leaves some margin.
Here are a few accessories we've selected for this model, depending on your needs.
