The SynScan application enables the telescope to be automatically pointed at more than one 10,000 celestial objects planets, Moon, Sun (with appropriate filter), double stars, clusters, nebulae and galaxies. The touch-sensitive interface is clear, educational and perfectly suited to beginners and experienced observers alike.

Freedom-Find™: total freedom without losing alignment

The Skymax 127 Virtuoso GTi incorporates patented technology Freedom-Find™ dual encoder. It moves the telescope manually on both axes at any time, without losing position or alignment information.

The result: exceptional freedom of use, ideal for alternating between Go-To assisted observation and spontaneous manual exploration of the sky.

127 mm Maksutov-Cassegrain optics: precision and contrast

The optical tube Skymax 127 is a Maksutov-Cassegrain renowned for its precision and optical stability. With its 127 mm diameter and its 1500 mm long focal length, he excels in :

Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions

Qu'est-ce qu'on peut voir avec le Sky-Watcher Skymax 127 Virtuoso GTi ?

The Moon in great detail, the planets (Jupiter’s bands, Saturn’s rings, Venus’s phases), and double stars: its long focal length naturally provides high magnification. Its 127-mm diameter also allows for viewing some bright clusters and nebulae. Its maximum useful magnification is approximately 254× (2 × the diameter in mm); in practice, atmospheric turbulence often limits observation to lower magnifications.

Which eyepieces are included, and what are their magnifications?

Two eyepieces are included: 25 mm and 10 mm. With a focal length of 1,500 mm, they provide 60× and 150× magnification. To determine the magnification of an eyepiece, divide the telescope’s focal length by the eyepiece’s focal length.

Is it easy to carry?

It can still be transported by car: the tube weighs about 3 kg and the mount about 5 kg.

Should we aim it at him?

No, practically never: a Maksutov's optics are factory-adjusted and remain stable, which is one of its major advantages for beginners. To check, a star test is all it takes: point the telescope at a bright star, defocus it slightly, and the rings should be perfectly concentric.

Can we take pictures?

The motorized mount tracks objects: this is ideal for filming the Moon and the planets with a smartphone or a small planetary camera, and the planets already appear large thanks to the 1,500 mm focal length. Long exposures of the deep sky remain limited, since an azimuth mount rotates the field of view.

What's in the box?

127 mm Maksutov-Cassegrain telescope, Virtuoso GTi mount, red-dot finder, 90° 1.25″ right-angle mirror, 10 mm and 25 mm eyepieces.

L'alimentation est-elle fournie avec le Sky-Watcher Skymax 127 Virtuoso GTi ?

No. The Sky-Watcher Virtuoso GTi mount does not come with a power supply. Power requirements: 12 V DC (7.5 to 14 V), 750 mA min., 5.5 × 2.0/2.1 mm plug with positive center (or 8 AA batteries). For home use, we recommend the'Pegasus Astro 12 V power supply with a 2.1 mm plug, compact and adequate for this mount.
