Visit ZWO AM5N is an astronomical mount designed to combine mobility and load capacity. It can be used in equatorial or azimuthal mode, it is suitable for both astrophotography sessions and visual observation.
Weighing 5.5 kg for the mount headit can withstand up to 15 kg load without a counterweight and up to 20 kg with counterweight. Its compact size makes it easy to transport and set up at observation sites.
The AM5N uses deformation-wave reducers, commonly known as harmonic drives. This technology enables the transmission of high torque within a compact design, offering an attractive balance between weight and load capacity.
It thus makes it possible to set up a portable system while still allowing for the use of various instruments and their imaging accessories.
The AM5N can accommodate up to 15 kg without counterweight. For heavier setups, adding a bar and a counterweight allows you to reach a maximum capacity of 20 kg, in accordance with the terms of use established by ZWO.
The fee includes the instrument and all of its accessories : camera, guidance system, filter wheel, and other onboard equipment. The choice of configuration must also take into account its overall size, center of gravity, and the stability of the tripod.
The counterweight bar and counterweight are available as options.
Visit equatorial mode, the AM5N is suitable for deep-sky astrophotography. In azimuth mode, it offers a configuration suited for visual observation.
This versatility allows you to use the same frame for a variety of purposes, both at home and on the go.
The Built-in Bluetooth allows you to control the AM5N directly from the app SkyAtlas, without plugging in the racket. Control via Wi-Fi This, on the other hand, is handled by the module built into the racket, which must remain connected to the frame.
A connection USB also allows for control via a computer or an ASIAIR.
Visit The included remote control connects via a cable to the mount's dedicated port. Its joystick is used to move both axes, while its buttons control functions such as activating tracking and returning to the home position.
The AM5N features a 12 V DC power connection and a USB-C port on the mounting board. These connections make it easier to connect an ASIAIR unit installed near the telescope and reduce the length of the movable cables.
Combined with a ASIAIR, sold separately, the AM5N integrates into a system that allows for centralized control of the mount, camera, and compatible accessories.
This app makes it easier to prepare for and manage astrophotography sessions using a smartphone or tablet.
