What is this model best suited for?

• Designed based on the performance objectives of the Apollo 11 mission; 82° field of view and 19 mm eye relief for eyeglass wearers.
• Adjustable and lockable barrier; parfocality across the four focal lengths when used with the ASF-8125 HiHat adapter for 1.25-inch and 2-inch modes.

Frequently asked questions

What is the magnification with this eyepiece?
With a telescope that has a focal length of 1,000 mm, this eyepiece provides approximately 53× magnification. The magnification is calculated by dividing the telescope’s focal length by that of the eyepiece.

Is it compatible with my telescope?
It requires a 2-inch eyepiece holder or a 2-inch right-angle mirror. It cannot be inserted directly into a 1.25-inch mount. Also check that it is securely fastened and properly balanced.

Can you observe things with glasses?
The specified eye relief is 19 mm. Comfort when wearing glasses also depends on their shape and how the eye is positioned; trying them on is always better than relying on a one-size-fits-all guarantee. The Tele Vue chart indicates DIOPTRX compatibility; this astigmatism corrector is optional.

Is the apparent field the field visible in the sky?
No. The apparent field of view of 82° describes the view through the eyepiece. The actual field of view depends on the telescope; the field stop of 27.1 mm is the value to use to calculate it.
