Losmandy WandererAstro Long Kit for Cover V4 Pro-EC and Eclipse

The WandererAstro long telescopic mount allows you to attach a WandererCover V4 Pro-EC or a Wanderer Eclipse motorized cover to a Losmandy-style dovetail. It is designed specifically for large Celestron EdgeHD series telescopes and RASA telescopes equipped with an extended dew shield. Its adjustable design helps position the cover according to the instrument’s configuration.

A mounting system designed for setups with anti-fog screens

The kit attaches to a Losmandy dovetail and then holds the WandererAstro device. The telescoping section allows you to adjust its position so that the WandererCover or Eclipse can be placed over the aperture. This feature is particularly useful when the dew shield extends beyond the front of the tube. The mount is made of aluminum alloy and weighs 640 g. According to WandererAstro, it can support a 380 mm WandererCover V4 Pro-EC.

The cover is attached to the mount using the threaded holes provided on the WandererCover V4 Pro-EC or the Wanderer Eclipse. The standard screws required for this connection are included. The mount is a mounting accessory designed to be used with the telescope, its dovetail, the dew shield, and a compatible device.

Choosing the Right Configuration

This long version is designed for the WandererCover V4 Pro-EC and Wanderer Eclipse. It should not be confused with the brand’s short mount. For Celestron EdgeHD and RASA models used without an extended dew shield, WandererAstro recommends choosing the short version. Be sure to check for the presence of both the dew shield and a Losmandy dovetail before selecting this kit.

The diameter of the cover must be selected separately based on the tube being used. As a general guideline, a 280-mm WandererCover V4 Pro-EC or a 275-mm Eclipse is suitable for the C8 EdgeHD and RASA 8. For a C11 EdgeHD or a RASA 11, the recommended diameters are 320 mm and 350 mm, respectively. These dimensions apply to the covers; they do not replace the need to verify the mounting configuration and the presence of the extended dew shield.

Before Installation

Check the exact model of the cover and the available space along the dovetail. Then position the bracket on the mount to determine the proper position for the opening and the anti-fog shield. The telescopic adjustment is used to fine-tune this position; the correct cover diameter varies by instrument. The manufacturer reserves this long bracket for the two product lines mentioned above.
