The Sky Quality Meter – L (SQM-L) from Unihedron is a portable device specially designed to measure the brightness of the night sky with great precision. It's ideal for astronomers and astrophotographers thanks to its narrow measuring field and enhanced sensitivity.

Key features

• Angular sensitivity : The SQM-L is equipped with a lens that reduces the measurement field to an angle of 20° (FWHM), with an HWHM of around 10°, enabling precise, localized measurements.
• Measuring range : Measures brightness in magnitudes per square arcsecond (mag/arcsec²), with typical values ranging from 16 (very bright sky) to 23 (extremely dark sky).
• Sensor : Uses a TAOS TSL237S sensor, sensitive only to visible light thanks to a HOYA CM-500 filter that blocks infrared.
• Display : LCD display showing brightness and temperature (in °C or °F).
• Measuring time : Fast measurement in approx. 8 seconds, even in dark environments.
