Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions

What can you see with the Sky-Watcher Quattro-150P?

With a 150 mm aperture at f/4 and a focal length of 600 mm, it is primarily an astrophotography instrument: when used with a camera, it is designed to photograph large nebulae, the Milky Way, and large clusters across a very wide field of view.

Is it easy to carry?

Yes, it's a lightweight instrument: the tube weighs about 5.7 kg.

Should we aim it at him?

Yes, and with care: in astrophotography, an f/4 open-aperture Newtonian telescope requires precise collimation. A collimation laser simplifies the adjustment process. The Sky-Watcher Collimation Guide (EN) explains the procedure.

Can we take pictures?

Yes, that's what it's designed for: it mounts on a motorized equatorial mount (not included) with an astro camera or a regular camera. With an f/4 aperture, it gathers light very quickly, so exposure times remain short. With a tube weighing approximately 5.7 kg (without accessories), choose a mount with a load capacity that leaves some room to spare.

What's in the box?

150 mm Newtonian telescope with steel tube, 6×30 finder scope, Linear Power 2″ dual-speed 10:1 eyepiece holder, tube clamps and dovetail, M48 aplanatic coma corrector (f/3.45).
