The ESATTO 2-inch is a motorized eyepiece holder that combines mechanical components, a motor, and control electronics. The Crayford-type mechanism uses 18 ball bearings. The advertised resolution is 0.04 micrometers per step. This level of control precision should not be confused with absolute positional accuracy or a guarantee of focusing quality independent of the optics and the measurement method. The body is 67 mm thick and weighs 835 g.
The telescope adapter must be selected separately depending on the instrument. The manufacturer provides interfaces for several telescope types, including Schmidt-Cassegrain, refractors, Cassegrain, and Newtonian. The inclusion of a telescope type in the list does not mean that a universal adapter is included: the specific model and the required mechanical length must be verified before assembly.
On the camera side, the movable tube has an M56 male thread (to be confirmed). The pitch must be confirmed before making any direct connection to an adapter or accessory. Optional camera adapters with a stop ring provide additional threaded interfaces and allow you to adjust the camera’s orientation while maintaining a screw connection.
The USB-C cable (included) connects the ESATTO to an EAGLE or a Windows computer. The manufacturer states that a USB port capable of supplying at least 1 A can provide both power and control via a single cable. This requirement must be verified for the port being used; it does not mean that any USB hub is automatically suitable.
PLAY handles the focusing process. The ASCOM driver allows you to use third-party software compatible with ASCOM eyepiece holders, particularly for automated procedures based on star measurement. The system can therefore be integrated into your chosen imaging software, provided the system is compatible.
The built-in Wi-Fi enables control via Virtual HandPad on a smartphone, tablet, or computer. Saved positions allow you to return to preset settings, which can also be useful for visual observation. Wi-Fi control remains available even when the device is connected to a computer.
A dedicated port accommodates an optional ARCO rotator with a single short connection, without requiring additional external USB and 12 V cables specific to the rotator. ARCO then provides motorized framing or field rotation, depending on the mount. The rotator, telescope adapters, and camera interfaces are optional accessories; they are not listed as included with this ESATTO model alone.
