Nexcope NIB630 inverted research microscope - phase contrast, Ergo-Head & easy handling
Visit Nexcope NIB630 is the flagship model of the NIB600 series: a professional inverted microscope designed for
direct observation of cell cultures, microalgae, plankton and live samples in their culture vessel,
with no deductions. His signature: a tilting lighting unit (very practical with taller bottles and cans) and a
ergonomic head Ergo-Head à adjustable eyepiece height for real comfort in intensive use.
Why an inverted microscope?
Unlike a conventional “upright” microscope, a inverted microscope observes the sample from below. This enables
ask directly Petri dishes, flanges, multi-well plates or culture vessels on the stage, and track live cells.
or aquatic organisms without disturbing the environment.
NIB630 highlights
- Phase contrast (included on several objectives): essential for visualizing low-contrast living cells without staining.
- Tilting lighting unit : better accessibility and fewer constraints with tall containers.
- Ergo-Head Height-adjustable eyepieces, suitable for multiple users (laboratory, teaching, shared platforms).
- Köhler lighting for even illumination, reduced light fog and improved contrast.
- Lens brightness memory Each lens can have its own programmed level, so you can change magnification without “glare”.
- Integrated display : info on selected lens, brightness, lighting / ECO status.
Optics & lenses supplied
The NIB630 is equipped with a 5-position turret. Delivered with :
- 4x planachromatic
- 10x, 20x, 40x planachromatic phase contrast
The objectives are announced as planachromatic, infinitely corrected (60 mm system, M25 thread). The system is optimized
for containers with a 1.2 mm base thickness (important point: use the right consumables to get the best performance).
Condenser: long working distance
The condenser is given with a NA 0.30 and a very large workspace, useful for inverting (and consistent with culture/plankton usage).
The condenser setting is adjustable for rapid implementation.
Eyepieces: wide field, comfortable for glasses
- 22 mm field large visual field.
- Diopters : setting -5 à +5 per eyepiece.
- Pupil distance : 48 to 75 mm.
- Comfort suitable for eyeglass wearers, with rubber protection.
3 W Köhler LED lighting: homogeneity + sample protection
Lighting Köhler aims for uniform, controlled illumination, limiting the stray light and avoiding unnecessary lighting
(the text produced also highlights the interest in sensitive live samples). The LED 3 W is dimmable.
A very practical feature: the programmable brightness for each lens. You go from 10x to 40x, and the microscope automatically calls back
the associated light level, without manual resumption.
Mechanical engineering: precision & modularity
- Focusing macro + microphone (rotating the microphone would move the 0.2 mm).
- Macro friction adjustable.
- Modular controls Microfocus buttons magnetic, can be positioned on the left or right.
- Turntable / support Platinum plate accepts a variety of inserts (slides, Petri dishes, etc.).
Camera connection: designed for the laboratory
The NIB630 is designed for use with C-mount, with side port and distribution selector 100/0 or 0/100 (visual / camera).
This simplifies integration into imaging and documentation workflows.

To avoid selection errors
- It's the right choice if you ride cell culture or the living in containers, and that the phase contrast has priority.
- Check your consumables the system is calculated for a bottom thickness 1.2 mm (critical performance point).
- If your application is “routine classic blades” (histology, smears, etc.), an upright laboratory microscope may be more cost-effective.
