Visit iOptron CEM70 is a high-performance center-balanced equatorial (CEM) mount, capable of supporting up to 31.8 kg (70 lb)while weighing only 13.6 kg (30 lb). This charge ratio (~2.33) makes it particularly practical for both nomadic and stationary astrophotography.
Designed entirely in metal, it features a duo of 151 mm (248-tooth) gears, a very low periodic error (< ± 3.5 arcsec P-Peak) and permanent PE correction (PPEC) for ultra-precise tracking.
Its Go-To microprocessor (Go2Nova 8407/8410) includes a database of over 200,000 objects, 32-channel GPS and heated LCD screen. Polar alignment is performed via the integrated electronic iPolar.

The version CEM70G (or CEM70+Wi-Fi/USB3) adds iGuider (on-board autoguider), a reinforced management cable, and USB 3/Wi-Fi ports for direct PC control.
Users confirm its reliability: "tracking accuracy is amazing... 0.4″ RMS" on a RC 1625 mm, and use with EdgeHD 11 + ZWO2600mc for long exposure astrophotography.
SummaryThe CEM70 combines portability, remarkable capacity, Go-To precision, optimal tracking and integrated accessories (GPS, iPolar, iGuider in G version), making it a solid choice for the demanding astrophotographer.
Center-balanced equatorial mount for astrophotography with an instrument weighing up to 31.8 kg (excluding counterweights): 11″ Schmidt-Cassegrain, 130–150 mm refractors. Portable (13.6 kg head). Recommended capacity for astrophotography: 23.9 kg, or 75% of the advertised load capacity, to ensure precise tracking.
EMC design (load centered above the tripod): more stable and lighter than a traditional German equatorial mount with the same capacity. Built-in iPolar, GPS, and USB port.
Yes, just like any German equatorial mount. The iOptron CEM70 comes with 1 × 9.5 kg of counterweight and a bar (Ø 28 × 415 mm).
The iOptron CEM70 is powered by a 12 V DC, 5 A AC adapter (included). Power consumption: 0.6 A during tracking, 0.8 A during GoTo. The power supply is included. The included AC adapter is intended for indoor use; in the field, use a 12 V battery.
The iOptron CEM70 is sold without a tripod. Choose a tripod or column that can support the total load.
The iOptron CEM70 can be controlled using a hand controller or a computer via USB (ASCOM). For autoguiding (ST4 port), a guide scope such as the 52 Scope guide or the Sky-Watcher EVOGUIDE-50ED is appropriate.
