The PrimaLuceLab rain sensor triggers the automatic closure of an OUTPOST dome when it detects rain.
It is mounted outdoors, usually on the dome shell. Its wired connection to the OUTPOST electronics allows it to operate independently of the telescope’s and dome’s remote control software.
The four-meter cable is listed as included with the sensor. This item is part of the observatory’s protection system; it does not include the dome. The fact that the software operates independently should not be interpreted as meaning it is self-powered or universally compatible with other automated systems. Plan the sensor’s location and the cable routing when integrating it into OUTPOST.
