This PrimaLuceLab kit replaces the coaxial cables between the SPIDER 500A Mark II antenna and the H142-PRO receiver with a fiber-optic connection.
The optical link compensates for the gain loss introduced by long coaxial cables. It is designed for the SPIDER Mark II radio system operating at 1420 MHz and should not be marketed as a universal converter for other applications.
The manufacturer describes converters to be installed on the antenna and a converter near the receiver in the control room. The fiber must be ordered in the required length: no standard lengths are listed here.
This reference applies to the SPIDER 500A Mark II. The first generation is explicitly excluded. The radio telescope and receiver are used to define the compatible system; they are not included in this connection kit.
