- Reduced focal length : The focal length is reduced to 420.24 mm, offering a wider field of view for capturing large-scale celestial objects at high resolution.
- Lens design : Quadriplet optics for aberration correction and uniform sharpness across the entire field, particularly beneficial for large sensors.
- Back focus : Standard 55 mm rear focal length, for easy integration with accessories and astrophotography cameras.
- Weight : 0.98 kg, ensuring optimum stability and balance for astrophotography setups.
Dimensions and Technical Design
- Outside diameter : 72 mm, with M84*1 front thread for secure attachment to the 103 APO astrograph.
- Rear thread : M48*0.75, with integrated thread for 2" filters, allowing direct installation of filters for customized observations.
- Adapters included : This reducer is supplied with M681, M540.75 and M48*0.75 adapters, offering maximum flexibility for connection to a variety of equipment.
Benefits for users
This reducer is designed to improve the efficiency of deep-sky shots by reducing the exposure time required while increasing the field of view. Full-frame compatibility lets you take advantage of the full potential of large sensors without compromising image quality. The addition of a 2" filter thread via the M48*0.75 adapter makes this reducer even more versatile for experienced astrophotographers.
Optional accessories for 103 APO
In addition to this 0.6x reducer, the 103 APO astrograph also offers a 1.0x flattener and a 0.8x reducer, providing different configuration options for users.
Installation steps for 0.6x Reducer on Askar 103 APO
- Tube and focuser positioning : First, stretch the lens hood on the front tube. Adjust the tube retaining ring to the position shown in the image, ensuring that the end of the dovetail plate extends beyond the optical tube. Position the focuser beyond the dovetail, then lock the tube ring screw to stabilize the assembly.
- Removing the focuser : Unscrew the focuser by turning it in the direction indicated until it detaches from the telescope's main tube.
- Tube ring adjustment : Extend the retaining ring tube to free up space for mounting the reducer. Make sure the dovetail protrudes beyond the tube to ensure optimum balance when using the reducer.
- Removing the rear section of the tube : Unscrew the rear section of the tube to access the part where the reducer will be mounted.
- Preparing the gearbox assembly : After screwing on the focuser, remove the rear section of the tube to make room for the reducer.
- Removing the 2" and 1.25" adapter : As shown, unscrew the 2" and 1.25" adapters to free up space for the reducer.
- Gearbox installation : Unscrew dust caps from accessories. Screw the reducer directly into tube 103 APO.
