Askar FMA230 Bezel

Askar FMA230 presentation

Building on the immense success of the FMA135 and FMA180 models, Askar now presents its new astrograph, the FMA230. This model is specially designed to meet the expectations of the most demanding astrophotographers, while expanding the range of choices for astronomy enthusiasts. Thanks to its advanced features and meticulous design, the FMA230 is a must-have instrument for capturing professional-quality images, whether for terrestrial or celestial observations.

High-end optics with superior color correction

• Optical design : Lens system consisting of an air-gap APO triplet lens, with two ED glass elements for optimum chromatic correction.
• Configuration: "Three in the front and four in the rear" - three elements in the front and four in the rear gearbox.
• Opening : 50 mm
• Focal length : 275 mm (230 mm with reducer)
• Focal report : f/5.5 (f/4.6 with gearbox)
• Lens type: Triplet APO with air space for a sextuplet refractor suitable for full format.

Advanced Astrophotographic Performance

• The FMA230 is optimized for astrophotography thanks to a four-element gearbox offering an optical reduction factor of 0.84×. This transforms the FMA230 into a 50mm astrograph with an effective focal length of 230mm and a focal ratio of f/4.6.
• This reducer improves image clarity and accentuates details, particularly at the edges of the field.

Compact design and versatile accessories

• Total weight of 1200 g (including tube rings and dovetail plate) and length of 239 mm for imaging (240 mm for non-diagonal viewing) for optimum portability.
• Accessories included:
  • Vixen-style dovetail plate
  • Pair of artistically pierced tube rings provide extra space for equipment without colliding with the plate.
  • Detachable handle, which can also be used to support additional equipment (handlebars, ASIAIR, etc.) thanks to ARCA-SWISS-compatible slots.

Versatility in Observation and Imaging modes

• Powerful in direct observation mode for detailed views of the night sky or terrestrial landscapes.
• Offers professional image quality, enabling you to capture stars and celestial objects with exceptional precision.
• Equipped with an M48×0.75 rear thread for imaging and a 2" socket for visual observation, guaranteeing extensive compatibility with various accessories and filters.

A New Standard for Astronomical Imaging

• The FMA230 is the new standard in the Askar range, combining advanced features, high-precision optics and practical design.
• It's lightweight, compact and packed with features such as a 360° rotator to adjust the orientation of shots, ideal for outdoor astrophotography.

Included in the standard package

• FMA230 Astrograph
• Pair of tube rings
• Vixen-style dovetail plate
• Instruction manual

Conclusion

The FMA230 is the perfect astrograph for those seeking unrivalled image quality in a compact, practical format. Thanks to its advanced optical system, versatility and thoughtful accessories, it offers an exceptional astrophotography and observation experience.
