Visit 0.8x reducer for Askar 120 APO is a quality accessory designed to optimize the performance of your telescope. It reduces the focal ratio of the 120 APO from f/7 to f/5.6, increasing the field of view and reducing exposure times. Perfect for capturing large swathes of sky, such as extensive nebulae, star clusters and other fast-moving celestial objects.

0.8x gearbox specifications

  • Focal length after installation : 672 mm
  • Focal report : f/5,6
  • Number of lenses : Triplet design for razor-sharp images
  • Back focus : 55 mm from base of M48 male thread
  • Weight : 0.75 kg, for enhanced stability
  • Rear thread type : M68×1, M54×0.75 and M48×0.75 with 2" internal filter thread
  • Front thread : M84×1, for secure attachment to the telescope

0.8x Reducer installation

Installation is quick and easy, ensuring efficient set-up. Here's how it works:

  1. Remove existing adapters: Unscrew the 2" adapter and the 1.25" adapter from the eyepiece holder of your Askar 120 APO.
  2. Prepare the gearbox: Remove the dust cap from the accessories, exposing the thread.
  3. Attach the reducer: Screw the 0.8x reducer into the telescope using the available threads (M68×1, M54×0.75, or M48×0.75 as required).

Protection and Design

This 0.8x reducer is CNC machined and features threaded metal plugs at both ends, ensuring optimum protection against dust when the camera is not in use. It's the ideal accessory for astrophotographers in search of detail and speed.
