It combines two essential functions: field curvature correction and focal length reduction for sharper images, a wider field of view and reduced exposure times.

Field curvature is a natural optical phenomenon caused by the main instrument. Without correction, stars at the edge of the image appear less sharp or slightly distorted. The field flattener, also known as a field corrector, corrects this effect to keep the stars fine and perfectly punctual right up to the ends of the sensor.

The integrated focus reducer reduces the telescope's focal length by a factor of 0.85x. This reduction improves the focal ratio of the instrument, making the optics brighter and faster for astro-imaging. Exposure times are reduced, while a wider field of view enables the capture of more extensive celestial objects.

This corrector/reducer is particularly well-suited to deep-sky astrophotography with the following scopes Sky-Watcher EvoStar 120ED and 120EDX. It makes it easier to photograph large nebulae, star clusters and vast stellar fields, with improved image homogeneity.

The camera-side connection uses a M48, This guarantees excellent compatibility with modern SLR, hybrid and astronomical cameras. The large diameter of the connection also limits vignetting when using large sensors.

Installed between the telescope and the camera, this reducer/corrector is an essential accessory for fully exploiting the capabilities of the EvoStar 120ED and 120EDX scopes in advanced astrophotography.
