Explore Scientific - Moon & Planets Filter Kit #4 (from 200 mm aperture)

Visit Explore Scientific n°4 filter kit is specially designed for observing Moon
and planets with telescopes featuring an aperture of at least 200 mm (8″).
It includes four high-quality color filters to significantly improve contrast and visibility
details on the lunar surface and in the atmospheres of solar system planets.

Filters included

  • Green filter n°56 (1,25″) - Enhances contrast between red and blue zones
in the clouds of Jupiter and Saturn. On the Moon, it highlights the fine structures of craters.
  • Dark blue filter n°38A (1,25″) - Ideal for observing Mars' high cloud cover,
darkens red structures and highlights Jupiter's Great Red Spot. Improves visibility of Saturn's rings
and refined the atmospheric details of Venus.
  • Orange filter n°21 (1,25″) - Improves detection of dark areas on Mars and
reveals more details in the cloud bands of Saturn and Jupiter.
  • Light yellow filter n°8 (1,25″) - Enhances the contrast of lunar and Martian formations.
On Jupiter, it accentuates the distinction between cloud bands. With an aperture ≥ 8″,
it can even identify fine details on Saturn.

Why use color filters?

Visit color filters slightly attenuate brightness, reducing the risk of overexposure and
increases overall contrast. They make it possible to distinguish fine details invisible to the naked eye without filtering.
Indispensable for amateurs looking to exploit the full potential of their telescope.
