TeleVue Sol-Searcher

The TeleVue Sol-Searcher is a clever and safe tool designed to point the Sun easily with a telescope or telescope equipped with suitable solar filters. This optic-free finder uses a simple and effective projection system, enabling you to quickly align your instrument with the Sun without risk to your eyes.

Key features

  • Type : Solar finder without optics, without magnification.
  • How it works :
    • A small opening at the front lets in sunlight.
    • This light is projected onto a translucent screen at the rear, visible from both sides.
    • When the image of the Sun is centered on the screen, it is also centered in the eyepiece's field of view.
  • Compatibility :
    • Attaches directly to TeleVue and Lunt Solar Systems sunglasses collars.
    • Can be adapted to other instruments using screws (#10-32) or Velcro (not supplied).
    • Compatible with Synta-type dovetails (Vixen, Sky-Watcher, Orion) via bases such as the TeleVue QRB-1002.
  • Screen dimensions : Approx. 1/4" (6.35 mm), translucent and easy to read.

Compatibility

The Sol-Searcher can be used with :

  • TeleVue and Lunt Solar Systems sunglasses.
  • Any telescope equipped with a compatible base (such as Synta or TeleVue QRB-1002).
  • Other instruments via Velcro or custom mounting.

Important

Solar observation should always be carried out with suitable equipment, such as a full aperture solar filter. The Sol-Searcher does not replace these filters, but merely facilitates safe pointing at the Sun.
