Visit TS-Optics M90 Tilting Adapter is designed to correct alignment problems between your telescope's focal plane and your camera's sensor. With M90x1 female/male threads and a minimum optical path of 15 mm, it is perfectly suited to RC 6″ and 8″ (TS-Optics, GSO, Astro-Tech) and other instruments with this standard. An indispensable accessory for obtaining round stars right down to the corners of the field, even with large sensors.
Even with perfect collimation, a slightly tilted sensor produces stars lying in a corner. Common causes: small tilt in the focuser, slightly misaligned optics, camera sensor not perfectly perpendicular (manufacturing tolerances).
The adapter allows this angle to be corrected by subtly tilting the sensor in relation to the optical field. Once set and locked, tilt is eliminated → perfectly round stars all over the field. This operation must be carried out once, after which the orientation of the adapter is not changed.
The M90 Tilting Adapter can also be used in projects involving eyewear customization. Installed between the lens and the tube (with appropriate rings), it can be used to adjust optical alignment if the cell does not have built-in adjustment.
