Antlia Quad Band Anti-Light Pollution filter

The Antlia Quad Band Anti-Light Pollution filter is designed to effectively reduce light pollution while capturing a wide range of deep-sky objects, including galaxies, reflection nebulae, emission nebulae and star clusters. It works with both color (OSC) and monochrome cameras, and is compatible with high-speed optics up to f/2.

Key features

  • Targeted elimination of polluting lights (high-pressure sodium and blue LEDs)
  • Capture over 95% of deep-sky objects
  • Simultaneous transmission of Ha, SII, OIII, H-Beta and NII lines
  • High transmission (>92%) at all major emission wavelengths
  • Near infrared (NIR) transmission to detect signals inaccessible to other filters
  • Compatible with ultra-fast lenses up to f/2 without significant loss of performance
  • Natural color balance for easy post-processing
  • One-piece, unglued optical substrate
  • Optical surface quality S/D 60/40 (MIL-O-13830)
  • Transmitted wavefront: λ/4 or better
  • Parallelism: less than 30 arcsec

Spectral Specifications

  • H-alpha: 656.3nm (>92%)
  • SII: 671.6nm and 673.1nm (>92%)
  • OIII: 495.9nm and 500.7nm (>92%)
  • H-Beta: 486.1nm (>92%)
  • NII: 654.8nm and 658.3nm (92%)
  • Out-of-band blocking: ≥OD4 from 300 to 1050nm
  • Filter thickness: 2mm ± 0.05mm

Filter design

  • Ultra-thin cell for reduced vignetting
  • Standard Antlia ring: 1.25″ (M28.5×0.6) and 2″ (M48x0.75)
  • Durable black anodized finish
  • Resistant laser engraving (non-fading)

Ideal applications

  • Astrophotography of galaxies, emission and reflection nebulae, star clusters
  • Use from heavily polluted skies (Bortle 8) to clean skies (Bortle 1)
  • Optimized for cameras with AR glass, to capture both visible and near-IR images

Recommended use

  • Compatible with OSC color and monochrome cameras
  • Ideal for cameras without internal UV/IR cut (AR glass)

Not recommended

  • Solar imaging
  • Visual observation at night

Safety warnings

  • DO NOT use to observe the Sun directly.
  • Serious eye damage may result from improper use.
