Double Stack DSII/SFPT module - Advanced solar observation

The Double Stack DSII/SFPT module is an advanced accessory designed specifically for the Lunt LS80MT and LS100MT modular telescopes. By reducing the bandwidth to < 0.5 Å, this module dramatically improves contrast and reveals exceptionally fine solar details. Complex structures, such as filaments, protuberances and chromospheric granulation, become even more visible, offering an unrivalled observing experience.

How Double Stack works scientifically

The DSII module is based on a Fabry-Perot etalon system, which acts as a high-precision optical filter. When used in Double Stack, it combines two standards to further reduce the bandwidth, isolating an even finer portion of H-alpha light (656.28 nm). This process amplifies the contrast of solar structures by eliminating stray wavelengths. The integrated tilt adjustment allows precise adjustment of the standard to optimize the image and eliminate unwanted reflections.
