The Omegon 2x Achromatic Barlow Lens increases the effective focal length of your telescope to double the nominal magnification when used with the same eyepiece. It allows you to expand your range of eyepieces without changing instruments, particularly for observing the Moon and planets. Its telescope-side thread is in the 1.25 inches (31.75 mm). The version number is 2289 : The factor and diameter must be considered together when making a selection.
The two-element lens design features a multi-layer coating designed to minimize reflections. The all-metal body offers a compact design: Omegon lists a length of 93 mm and a weight of 95 g. A side screw secures the 1.25-inch eyepiece. This version provides a simple solution for rounding out your observing setup.
Insert the eyepiece into the Barlow lens, tighten it, and then place the assembly into a compatible eyepiece holder. It can also increase the image magnification when used with a planetary camera equipped with the appropriate adapter. Adjust the focus after assembly; the increase in magnification alone does not guarantee greater detail when the sky is turbulent.

How do you calculate the magnification? Divide the telescope's focal length by that of the eyepiece, then apply the nominal magnification factor of this amplifier as intended for its configuration. Very high magnification can reduce apparent brightness and accentuate turbulence: choose a reasonable combination for your instrument.
Is it compatible with any camera? The insertion diameter alone is not enough to guarantee compatibility with a camera. You must also check the mount, the focal length, the field of view, and whether the camera can be focused. A camera or telescope is not included.
