Visit Sky-Watcher Skymax-102 AZ-Go2 is a compact, lightweight, high-performance telescope designed to offer a modern, intuitive observing experience. Ideal for beginners and more experienced users alike, it combines excellent optical quality with a motorized, WiFi-controlled Go-To mount. Easy to transport and quick to set up, it fits perfectly into the “grab-and-go” philosophy.
Thanks to the AZ-Go2 Go-To Alt-Azimuth equipped with a integrated WiFi module, the telescope can be controlled directly from a smartphone or tablet via the free app SynScan (iOS and Android). The mount generates its own WiFi network, allowing completely autonomous use without any external connection. After a simple alignment procedure, you can explore the sky by selecting your targets from an intuitive touchscreen interface.
The Go-To system provides access to a database of more than 10,000 celestial objects, including Messier, NGC, IC and Caldwell catalogs, as well as named stars, double stars and solar system objects. Advanced features such as “Tonight's Best Tour”, object identification and direct pointing enhance the viewing experience. Two-axis motorized tracking ensures that objects are held precisely in the field, with a choice of movement speeds (up to 800x) and sidereal, lunar and solar tracking modes.
In terms of optics, the Skymax-102 is based on an innovative Maksutov-Cassegrain, a highly compact, high-resolution device. With a diameter of 102 mm and a focal length of 1300 mm (focus report f/12.7), he excels at observing double stars, as well as details of the Moon and planets. Its long focal ratio produces high-contrast, razor-sharp images.
The primary and secondary mirrors are treated Radiant™ Aluminum Quartz (RAQ™), offering up to 94% reflectivity. This coating guarantees bright, long-lasting images. The optics are also multi-treatment to optimize light transmission and contrast.
The telescope is supplied with two eyepieces of 10 mm and 20 mm, allowing magnifications of x130 and x65, with a maximum potential of x204. Le red dot viewfinder facilitates the initial pointing of objects, particularly during the alignment phase.
Visit 90° elbow return (1.25″) provides a comfortable viewing position for celestial objects, while the’universal smartphone adapter included (compatible with cameras from 54 to 90 mm wide) makes it easy to capture images of the Moon and planets.
The AZ-Go2 mount is compatible with the ASCOM for computer control, as well as planetarium applications such as SkySafari Plus/Pro. A SynScan racket is also available as an option for classic steering.
The tripod in adjustable stainless steel ensures excellent stability in the field. It features a practical accessory tray for organizing your gear. The unit can be powered by 8 AA batteries or via an external power supply 12V, offering great flexibility of use.
The Sky-Watcher Skymax-102 AZ-Go2 is a complete, compact, high-performance telescope, ideal for high-precision planetary observation. Thanks to its Go-To WiFi system and ease-of-use, it lets you explore the sky independently and with optimum comfort.
