The Sky-Watcher SKYMAX-180 PRO EQ5 PRO SynScan is a top-of-the-range Maksutov-Cassegrain telescope designed for astronomy enthusiasts in search of exceptional optical performance and an automated Go-To system. With its large 180 mm and its long focal length, it is particularly well-suited to detailed observation of the Moon, planets and double stars, It also offers excellent performance on bright deep-sky objects.
Featuring an impressive focal length of 2700 mm (f/15), This telescope is optimized for very high magnification observations. It can reach magnifications of x108 and x270 with the eyepieces supplied, and can reach a theoretical maximum magnification of x540 under ideal conditions. This level of power makes it possible to explore with remarkable precision the details of lunar craters, the divisions of Saturn's rings and Jupiter's atmospheric structures..
The SKYMAX-180 PRO uses an optical design renowned for its high resolution and exceptional contrast. Its closed tube reduces internal turbulence and effectively protects optics from dust, guaranteeing stable image quality.
The primary and secondary mirrors are treated with Radiant™ Aluminum Quartz (RAQ™), offering up to 94% reflectivity. This treatment optimizes light transmission and guarantees bright, sharp, high-contrast images, while ensuring excellent durability.
Focusing by displacement of the primary mirror enables precise fine-tuning, essential for fully exploiting the capabilities of this high-magnification telescope.
The telescope is equipped with the EQ5 PRO SynScan™ Go-To equatorial mount, a high-performance motorized solution for automatically locating and tracking thousands of celestial objects.
Thanks to its stepper motors on both axes, the frame ensures smooth, precise movements. Once aligned using the integrated polar viewfinder, It compensates for the Earth's rotation to keep objects centred in the field of vision.
The SynScan snowshoe provides access to a vast database of celestial objects, making sky exploration simple and intuitive, even for users wishing to make rapid progress in astronomy.
Operating with a power supply 12V DC, This mount provides a solid basis for advanced visual observation and early experiments in astrophotography.
The SKYMAX-180 PRO comes with two high-quality eyepieces: a SP 10 mm and a LET 25 mm, which enables magnifications of x270 and x108. Le 2” (50.8 mm) angled return offers optimum viewing comfort, especially for objects at height.
The 9×50 optical finder makes it easy to spot celestial objects, while the quality of the accessories ensures a pleasant experience right from the outset.
The system is based on a 1.75” stainless steel tripod”, The integrated accessory tray adds extra comfort to your observation sessions. The integrated accessory tray adds extra comfort during observation sessions.
