Visit Uranus-M Pro is Player One's new monochrome cooled camera (sensor Sony IMX585 1/1.2″8.3 MP, 2.9 µm pixels). Designed for performance and reliability, it combines a 2-stage TEC cooling (Delta-T up to 35-40 °C), a lightweight carbon-fiber chassisa integrated anti-fog system and a tilt plate front 3P + rear 4P for precise adjustment of field flatness. Its on-board electronics 512 MB DDR3 cache for stable, lossless image acquisition, and the IMX585 sensor exploits STARVIS 2 for high sensitivity and low read noise.

With its full-well of 47 ke- (i.e. ~3.6 × IMX485), a throughput up to 47 fps in RAW8 and the absence of amp-glow (non-amp-glow), the Uranus-M Pro delivers a clean sky background and fine stars, whether in deep-sky narrowband/LRGB or wide-field mosaics. Its 1/1.2″ format also makes it easy to capture the complete solar/lunar disk with a short focal length.

Recommended cooling, fan and anti-fog settings

• Delta-T standard 35-40°C (e.g. ambient 30°C, fan 100 %, anti-fog 1 %).
• Recommended setting 30-35°C below ambient, fan 50-70 %, anti-fog ~10 % (conso ~40-60 %).
• ASCOM controls target temperature, fan speed, anti-fog power.

Sensor tilt management: round corners, sharp stars

The Uranus-M Pro is supplied with a front tilt plate 3P (installed) and a back plate 4P (included). The 3P covers most cases (single optical train). The 4P is ideal if you're using a filter wheel/drawer + OAG fixed-angle, or critical optics such as the RASA. A high-density foam gasket prevents lateral light leakage.

USB, DDR3 cache and storage

The port USB-C 3.0 provides full frame rate (up to ~47 fps in RAW8). The 512 MB DDR3 stabilize the stream to prevent image drop-outs and reduce playback noise due to transfer variations. The camera can operate on a basic USB 2.0 port, but to get the most out of it, opt for USB 3.0 and a USB 2.0 port. Fast SSD for recording.

Scientific performance and processing

• HCG mode active from ~gain 210: reduced playback noise, optimized dynamics.
• Dark frames : totally dark and non-amp-glowsimplifying pre-processing.
• Reading noise tests : achievable with SharpCap 4 (tool Sensor Analysis) to check your figures.

Backfocus & configurations (55 mm typical)

The Uranus-M Pro integrates easily into standard light trains BFL 55 mm with filter wheel or 1.25″/2″ spool and OAG. Some combinations may require 56 mm to compensate for filter thickness. Check the optical lengths of each ring and accessory in your setup.
