Equipped with a ED (Extra-low Dispersion) glass element, The Luma-X 40ED offers outstanding sharpness, contrast and color fidelity. The fine details of the solar surface - granulation, spicules, filaments - are rendered with impressive precision.
Thanks to its 40 mm front gauge with a bandwidth of less than 0.6 Ångström and its 8 mm blocking filter integrated into the angled reflector, you can observe spectacular solar phenomena in real time: flares, protuberances, spicules, sunspots and much more. All in compliance with safety standards ISO 12312-2:2015.

For automatic sun tracking, the mount Sky-Watcher SolarQuest Go-To/Tracking is highly recommended (sold separately). It provides precise motorized pointing and tracking, ideal for extended observation and solar astrophotography.
Observing the Sun involves serious risks. Inappropriate use can lead to irreversible eye damage. The 8 mm blocking filter integrated into the angled transmission is an integral part of the Luma-X 40ED's safety system. Never use any other angle drive for solar observation with this instrument. Strictly follow the instructions in the user manual.
