With StarSense Explorer 102mm, your smartphone becomes a veritable guide to the sky. No need for astronomy experience: the app shows you exactly where to point to discover the most beautiful and easy-to-find objects in the night sky.
Patented technology StarSense analyzes the star patterns above you using your phone's camera and calculates the telescope's position in real time. The application StarSense Explorer (Powered by SkySafari™) automatically generates a
list of currently visible objects: planets, bright nebulae, star clusters, galaxies and double stars. From the city, you can already see many bright targets, and under dark skies, you can explore fainter deep-sky objects.
The telescope is mounted on a manual alt-azimuth frame with slow movements on two axes. Simply follow the arrows on your
smartphone. When the crosshairs turn green, the object is centered: all that's left to do is look through the eyepiece (at 25mm to get a rough idea, then when the object is centered, you can switch to 10mm).
StarSense Explorer is a 102 mm bezel (4″) à 660 mm focal length, a focal ratio f/6.5. It's bright enough to offer superb views of the Moon, Saturn's rings, Jupiter's bands, as well as brilliant star clusters and nebulae.
Lenses benefit from special treatments XLT high transmission, which enhance image brightness and contrast. The scope is mounted on a lightweight aluminum tube, easy to transport and install.
