BRESSER DST-1028 5MP USB digital microscope - PC-based inspection and measurement (10x to 280x)

Visit BRESSER DST-1028 5MP is a USB incident light digital microscope designed to display your sample
directly on a PC screen (Windows 10/11). It's an excellent choice for everything to do with’inspection,
of the documentation and visual inspection (electronics, surfaces, materials, botany/insects),
with a big practical advantage: a powerful LED ring light and a continuous optical zoom to adapt
image size as required.

What does it actually do?

• Electronics : inspection of PCB, components, welds, traces, defects.
• Materials / surfaces surface condition checks, scratches, wear, structures.
• Quality / Industry checking parts, markings, burrs, micro-defects.
• Hobby / school Observation of plants, insects, textures and everyday objects.
• Forensics / authenticity examination of traces, fine details, patterns.

Important: this is not a “classic” biological microscope for transmitted light slides (cells, thin sections).
Here we are on a inspection microscope (reflection / incident light) oriented “workshop / control”.

Zoom and magnification: 10x to 280x (screen reference)

The DST-1028 offers a stufenlos optical zoom (continuous) and an announced magnification of 10x to 280x,
given for a full-screen image on a 27” monitor”. In practice, this means that the sensation of magnification
will depend on your screen size and resolution.

  • 10x : 42 × 32 mm
  • 100x : 4.2 × 3.2 mm
  • 280x : 1.6 × 1.2 mm

Working distance: a real strength in the workshop

Visit working distance (the space between the lens and the object) varies greatly:

• ~110 mm at low magnification (ideal for handling, positioning, and possibly working with a tool).
• ~10 mm at maximum magnification (classic: the bigger you get, the closer you get).

This is precisely what makes this type of microscope interesting for electronics and inspection: low/medium magnification,
we keep a working area usable.

Lighting: ring LED 8 adjustable LEDs

The microscope incorporates a ring light composed of 8 LEDs with intensity control
via a dimmer switch on the USB cable. This even illumination helps achieve high-contrast images on the screen.

PC software and measurement functions

The microscope is supplied with a software (download) for viewing and

micrometric blade (calibration), especially if you often change zoom/roughening.

The DST-1028 is supplied with a metal stativ stable, height-adjustable, with integrated focus.
This allows you to inspect dishes (prints, surfaces) as well as larger objects.

To make the right choice

• If your use = PCB / surfaces / quality control DST-1028 is the right choice (ring light + zoom + working distance).
• If your use = biological blades (cells, tissues, thin sections): a microscope is the best choice transmitted light (biological).
• If you want to work long hours and gain in comfort: a system with integrated screen or a trinocular head (depending on budget) may be more ergonomic.
