Visit Sky-Watcher Evostar 120EDX is the flagship of the brand's ED doublet range. This 120 mm, f/7 aperture refractor offers a formidable combination of power, optical quality and mechanical precision. Designed for both detailed visual observation and advanced astrophotography, it benefits from a new, optimized design, with a Crayford 2.8" 360° rotating eyepiece holdera sliding mist guard and high-quality FPL-53 lenses.
Available for pre-order - Delivery scheduled for October 2025.
The ED doublet in this Evostar 120EDX uses Ohara FPL-53 japanese glassrenowned for its excellent correction of chromatic aberrations. Thanks to a focal ratio of f/7In addition to the advantages of the MHTC multi-coating, this telescope is faster for astrophotography without sacrificing fine detail. MHTC multi-layer coatings ensure 99.5 luminous transmittance %for maximum contrast and perfectly punctual stars, even at the edge of the field.
The mechanics have been completely revised with a 2.8" Crayford focuser with 11:1 micro-reduction mounted on a 360° rotating adapter, ideal for photographic framing. The sliding mist guard for easy storage and transport, while the clamps with central handle provide a secure, balanced grip. The entire tube is made of aluminum with internal baffles to limit unwanted reflections.
Despite its 120 mm aperture, this telescope is easy to transport with a weight 6.3 kg. It can be mounted on mid- to high-end equatorial mounts. For deep-sky photographers, a 0.85x field reducer/corrector (optional) is recommended to optimize the flat field and reduce exposure times.
