In 1668, Sir Isaac Newton revolutionized astronomy by designing the very first mirror telescope. This concept, which increased the aperture while reducing the size of the tube, inspired future generations. The Skywatcher Heritage-150P pays tribute to this invention with a folding design, impressive performance and a style that honors the great names of astronomy, such as Galileo, Kepler, Messier and Newton himself.
Equipped with a 150 mm parabolic mirror in RAQ™ (Radiant™ Aluminum Quartz) treated borosilicate glass, the 150P collects 363 % more light than the human eye and 44 % more than the 130P. This gain in light translates into striking images of planets, galaxies and nebulae. All in a retractable tube that retains its collimation and is easy to carry, even in a backpack.
The optical tube rests on a lightweight azimuth base with Teflon™ bearings for smooth movement. A locking knob allows altitude to be fixed during observations. Anti-skid rubber pads reduce vibration, making this a excellent camping or travel telescope. Compact, robust and precise, it offers an observation experience worthy of much larger telescopes.
