The principle behind the Dobson mount is simple: smooth, intuitive azimuth movement, without motors or electronics. The whole unit is designed to easily follow a celestial object with the hand, while remaining perfectly stable. Set-up takes just a few minutes.
The primary mirror parabolic treated RAQ™ offers up to 94 % of reflectivity. This enables faithful reproduction of detail, with excellent brightness. Thanks to its 254 mm diameter, this telescope collects 56 % more light than a 200 mm - a real difference on faint objects.
M42 – Grande nébuleuse d’Orion : très spectaculaire, avec une belle sensation de relief. Sous ciel urbain, on peut parfois deviner une légère nuance de couleur selon les conditions.
M57 – Nébuleuse de l’Anneau : supporte très bien les forts grossissements, autour de x250, tout en gardant une image propre.
Sagittaire (Lagune, Trifide, etc.) : nébuleuses lumineuses et détaillées quand elles sont bien placées dans le ciel.
M27 – Nébuleuse de l’Haltère : très brillante, facile à repérer et particulièrement gratifiante.
Planets : toutes les grandes planètes sont accessibles et offrent des observations riches (selon la turbulence et la hauteur sur l’horizon).
M13 – Amas globulaire d’Hercule : encaisse très bien le grossissement (~x250) et révèle une superbe granulation.
Double-double de la Lyre : séparation sans difficulté à x250 avec une collimation soignée.
M51 – Galaxie du Tourbillon : les bras spiraux commencent à se dessiner lorsque le ciel est bien noir.
Dentelles du Cygne (sans filtre) : visibles, mais très délicates — l’exemple typique d’un objet qui récompense un excellent ciel.
M31 – Andromède : la bande de poussière peut apparaître dans de bonnes conditions.
Jupiter : observation possible d’événements marquants comme les éclipses/occultations de satellites.
Saturn : par seeing exceptionnel, on peut pousser jusqu’à x500 et obtenir un niveau de détail impressionnant.
