ZEUS 455C PRO - 62MP color full frame CMOS

The ZEUS 455C PRO camera from Player One Astronomy

Visit ZEUS 455C PROdeveloped by Player One Astronomyis a state-of-the-art, cooled color camera specially designed for deep-sky imaging (DSO). Equipped with Sony's IMX455AQK-K full-frame CMOS sensor, it offers exceptional performance for capturing the finest details of celestial objects with outstanding image quality.

Main technical data

• Sony IMX455AQK-K CMOS sensor High-precision industrial color sensor, 61 MP resolution (9576 x 6388 pixels), 44.3 mm diagonal.
• Pixel size 3.76 µm, guaranteeing optimum sensitivity and the ability to capture fine details.
• Full Well depth Capacity of up to 71.6 ke, for high-dynamic images without saturation.
• Wide dynamic range Up to 14.2 stops at zero gain, ideal for capturing subtle nuances in both dark and bright areas.
• Reduced reading noise In HCG (High Conversion Gain) mode, read noise is reduced to just 1.5 e-, ensuring optimum quality even in low light.
• Advanced cooling TEC Delta T: 35°C below ambient temperature, effectively reducing thermal noise for long exposures.

Imaging performance

Visit ZEUS 455C PRO is equipped with a dual sampling mode system:

• Normal mode Optimized for planetary imaging at high frame rates (FPS).
• Low Read Noise mode Designed for deep-sky imaging, with reduced noise and increased dynamic range.

Acquisition speeds are adapted to different resolutions:

• Full resolution (9576 x 6388) Up to 6.5 FPS in RAW8 and 3.2 FPS in RAW16.
• Reduced resolutions Ideal for fast, fluid captures.

Technological innovations

• STARVIS technology Backlit architecture to maximize light sensitivity and minimize noise.
• Native 16-bit ADC Fine gradation of color levels and smooth transitions between light and dark areas.
• 512 MB DDR3 cache memory USB 2.0: Stabilizes data transmission, prevents image loss and reduces playback noise, even with a USB 2.0 port.

Ergonomic design

The unique octagonal design of Player One combines aesthetics and functionality.

• Bright red and matt black finish Reduced risk of diffraction, ideal for RASA telescopes.
• 4-point rear adjustment plate Easy sensor tilt correction for optimum field flatness.

Applications

Visit ZEUS 455C PRO is ideal for :

• Deep sky imaging (nebulae, galaxies).
• Planetary observation thanks to its high-speed mode.
• Projects requiring precise reproduction of natural colors.

With its top-of-the-range features and advanced innovations, the ZEUS 455C PRO is an essential tool for astrophotographers seeking to explore the universe with precision and creativity.

Suggested Configurations

The kits include only the camera and the specified filter. No additional filter drawer, filter wheel, or optical splitter is included. A 2-inch filter holder compatible with the mount is required.

The coverage of the full-frame sensor depends on the mount, the distance to the filter, and the focal ratio; the absence of vignetting is not guaranteed. Check the filter's compatibility with your instrument's focal ratio.
