Visit ZWO ASI2600MM Pro is a cooled monochrome astronomical camera designed for discerning astrophotographers seeking excellent image quality and great versatility. It combines a Sony IMX571 monochrome sensor in APS-C format, extremely high sensitivity, and an efficient cooling system to produce exceptionally detailed images of the deep sky.
Thanks to its monochrome architecture, the ASI2600MM Pro is a solution particularly well-suited for use with LRGB filters and narrowband photography. This allows users to create images rich in detail and nuance by combining different shots, while taking full advantage of the performance of its sensor 26 megapixels.
At the heart of the ASI2600MM Pro is the Sony IMX571, a monochrome CMOS sensor in the APS-C. It has an area of 23.5 × 15.7 mm, for a diagonal of 28.3 mm. Its pixels of 3.76 μm offer an excellent balance between resolution, sensitivity, and the ability to capture fine details of celestial objects.
With a native resolution of 6248 × 4176 pixels, approximately 26 megapixels, this camera captures high-definition images while retaining a large amount of data for processing. The sensor also achieves a maximum quantum efficiency of 91 %, which means that a very large proportion of the received photons can be efficiently converted into a signal.
Sa saturation capacity of 73 ke⁻ It also allows a significant amount of signal to be captured before saturation occurs. Combined with a wide dynamic range, this feature makes it easier to preserve detail in both the darker and brighter areas of the subjects being photographed.
The ASI2600MM Pro features a 16-bit native analog-to-digital converter. This color depth provides excellent gradation in brightness levels and contributes to a dynamic range of up to 14 stops.
This wide dynamic range is particularly useful in deep-sky astrophotography. In particular, it allows for the revelation of subtle details in dim regions while preserving the information present in brighter areas. The camera is therefore ideally suited for capturing images LRGB, Ha, OIII, SII, and other narrow-band imaging techniques.
The camera features the technology Zero Amp Glow, which eliminates the stray light typically associated with certain CMOS sensors during long exposures. This design results in cleaner images and makes it easier to process the files, especially when exposure times are long.
The ASI2600MM Pro also features a HCG mode is active starting at gain 100. High Conversion Gain effectively reduces readout noise while maintaining a wide dynamic range. This combination is particularly advantageous for capturing the faint signals characteristic of nebulae and galaxies.
To minimize thermal noise during long exposures, the ZWO ASI2600MM Pro features a two-stage thermoelectric cooling system. This allows the sensor temperature to be lowered by approximately 30 to 35 °C below room temperature.
Cooling significantly reduces dark current and thus helps produce cleaner images during long exposures. The dark current is extremely low: it reaches only 0.0022 e⁻/s/pixel at 0 °C and goes down to 0.00012 e⁻/s/pixel at –20 °C. These performance characteristics effectively limit the occurrence of unwanted thermal signals.
The ZWO ASI2600MM Pro features a 512 MB DDR3 cache, which ensures stable and reliable data transmission during data acquisition. Its interface USB 3.0 It also allows you to quickly transfer files to your computer.
The exceptionally compact housing weighs approximately 0.7 kg. The camera also features a tilt adjustment allowing for precise adjustment of the sensor plane. This feature is particularly useful for achieving optimal image geometry and ensuring a good match with the telescope’s optical field.
With a 55 mm backfocus distance, the ASI2600MM Pro integrates easily into many astrophotography setups. This distance makes it particularly easy to pair with field correctors, reducers, and filter wheels. The included adapters allow you to mount the camera on various optical systems and build a setup tailored to each imaging project.
The camera also has a heated windshield to minimize fogging and condensation. This feature is especially useful on humid nights or when the equipment is used for several consecutive hours.
