Visit ZWO ASI585MC Air is an all-in-one smart camera designed to simplify and modernize astrophotography. More than just a color camera, it combines image acquisition, storage, live stacking, automatic guiding, and system control in a compact case. Thanks to its wireless connectivity, it lets you control your entire setup from an app, without needing a laptop or a bunch of cables.
The camera features a Dual-band Wi-Fi: 5 GHz / 2.4 GHz as well as Bluetooth, offering simple and flexible integration with your equipment. This particularly practical design helps reduce clutter around the telescope while maintaining comfortable control during observation or astrophotography sessions.
At the heart of the ASI585MC Air is the Sony IMX585 color sensor, known for its excellent performance in astrophotography. With a resolution of 3840 × 2160 pixels, or 4K, it allows you to capture detailed images of the deep sky and celestial objects. Its high sensitivity to light makes it easier to see details in dimly lit scenes, while its 12-bit dynamic range allows you to capture more detail and preserve information in both the bright and darker areas.
The camera also includes 2 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. This large storage capacity is particularly useful for astrophotography, where sessions can quickly generate several gigabytes of data. The eMMC memory reaches a read speed of 138 MB/s and a write speed of 112 MB/s, which facilitates quick file management and is particularly well-suited for live stacking as well as to lengthy data collection sessions.
One of the ASI585MC Air's key strengths is its Sony SC2210 Integrated Monochrome Guidance Sensor. With a resolution of 2 MP With exceptionally low noise, this sensor is designed for automatic mount guiding. It allows you to monitor guide stars and improve tracking accuracy during long exposures, without requiring an additional guide camera.
The guidance sensor features the STARVIS 2 technology, designed to provide high sensitivity and a particularly clean signal in low-light environments. This combination makes guiding more effective when there are few available guide stars or when they are dim.
The ASI585MC Air was designed to integrate easily into a modern astronomical setup. Its Dual-band Wi-Fi enables a fast wireless connection, while the Bluetooth offers an additional way to communicate with compatible devices. This allows the camera to be controlled from an app, significantly reducing the need for a laptop near the telescope.
It also remains versatile thanks to its various connection and power options, including via USB, USB Type-C, or 12 V DC power supply. Its compact design makes it easy to install on various types of telescopes and helps keep the setup as neat and lightweight as possible.
For nighttime sessions, the ASI585MC Air features a built-in heating function designed to limit condensation buildup on the camera. This equipment is particularly useful when temperature and humidity conditions promote fogging. It thus helps ensure stable and reliable image capture throughout the session.
