Visit ZWO ASI2600MM Duo is a high-end monochrome astrophotography camera that combines, in a the only compact case, a high-performance imaging sensor, and a dedicated guiding sensor. This design greatly simplifies the setup of an astrophotography system by eliminating the need for a separate guiding camera and numerous accessories.
Its main sensor Sony IMX571 offers a particularly attractive combination of resolution, sensitivity, and dynamic range. In particular, it features a 16-bit native analog-to-digital converter, with a dynamic range of 14 stops, square pixels of 3.76 µm, as well as a reading noise that can be as low as 1.0 e⁻. Its capacity at full well depth also reaches 73,000 electrons, allowing a large amount of information to be stored before saturation occurs.
Visit Sony IMX571 is the heart of the ZWO ASI2600MM Duo. This monochrome sensor is particularly well-suited for deep-sky imaging, where the ability to capture subtle variations in brightness is essential. Thanks to its pixels of 3.76 µm, it offers an excellent balance between resolution and sensitivity.
Visit native 16-bit ADC converter allows you to choose from a wide range of brightness levels to accurately reproduce the various shades in images. With a 14-stop dynamic range, the camera is capable of simultaneously capturing relatively bright areas and much fainter structures, which is particularly useful for observing galaxies, nebulae, and star clusters.
The capacity at full well of 73,000 e⁻ is also a significant advantage. It allows the sensor to accumulate a large amount of charge before reaching saturation, providing greater flexibility when acquiring data.
The ZWO ASI2600MM Duo features a read noise as low as 1.0 e⁻. This feature is particularly useful in astrophotography, as it helps preserve the weak signals captured by the sensor, especially when using exposure times suited for faint objects.
The camera is also free of amplifier glow. The absence of stray light generated by electronic circuits makes image processing easier and results in cleaner files, particularly during long exposures for deep-sky photography.
One of the ASI2600MM Duo's key features is its built-in guidance sensor. This is a SC2210 Type 1/1.8, designed specifically for autoguiding. Its direct integration into the main camera housing makes for a particularly compact guiding solution.
The SC2210 has a surface area of 7.68 × 4.32 mm and pixels of 4 × 4 µm. Its resolution of 1920 × 1080 pixels provides a field detailed enough to locate and track the stars used as references during autoguiding.
Sa particularly interesting sensitivity in the near-infrared is an added benefit. It allows the guide sensor to effectively detect stars within the field of view, even in situations where the guide stars may be relatively faint.
The SC2210 sensor has a full-well capacity of up to 8,780 electrons. This feature allows it to capture a significant amount of light before saturation and contributes to its effectiveness in guidance applications.
The combination of the IMX571 main sensor and the SC2210 thus provides a true solution two-in-one. Astrophotographers can take monochrome images while simultaneously using the built-in autoguiding system, without having to mount a separate guide camera on the eyepiece holder.
Integrating the two sensors into a single housing reduces the number of components needed around the telescope. In particular, this design can simplify cable management and make the entire setup neater and more convenient to use.
The camera is particularly appealing to astrophotographers who want to build a setup dedicated to deep monochrome sky while maintaining a high-performance, integrated guiding system. It is ideal for imaging that requires long exposures and the use of LRGB or narrowband filters.
