The heart of the Esprit-100EDX is a perfectly corrected triplet lens incorporating a Ohara FPL-53 Japanese ED glass lens. This type of design guarantees total color correction, even on the brightest stars. All air-glass surfaces benefit from MHTC treatment (Metallic High Transmission Coating), offering light transmission up to 99,5 %.
The f/5.5 focal ratio ensures an ideal compromise between optical speed for astrophotography and visual resolution. The image is high-contrast, sharp and free from colored bangs.
The Esprit-100EDX is equipped with a 3" Linear Power eyepiece holder CNC rack-and-pinion, with 11:1 reduction, designed to support heavy cameras without bending. It features a double rotation (rotating focuser + rotating adapter) for easy orientation of the camera or optical train.
