Featuring an apochromatic triplet lens with integrated Japanese glass Ohara FPL-53Esprit-120EDX offers perfect correction of chromatic aberrations. Even the brightest stars are rendered with exceptional sharpness, free from colored bangs. Optical surfaces are treated with MHTC (Metallic High-Transmission Coating), which guarantees 99.5 luminous transmittance % and remarkable contrast across the entire field.
The bezel is equipped with a Linear Power 3" eyepiece holder 11:1 double-speed CNC rack-and-pinion system, designed to support heavy cameras without bending. It features a double rotation The focuser itself can be rotated, as can the output adapter, to facilitate camera orientation. The sliding mist guardThe machined aluminum clamps feature a handle compatible with accessory mountings.
With its f/7 ratio, the Esprit-120EDX offers an ideal combination of resolution and field of view. It is fully compatible with large-format sensors thanks to its optional correctors: a dedicated field flattener (ref. 20189) or a reducer/corrector 0.77x (ref. 20095) to accelerate the optical system to around f/5.4. A considerable asset for wide-field deep-sky imaging.
