The Sky-Watcher Skyliner 406P FlexTube is an observational beast designed for demanding astronomers. With its 406 mm primary mirror, it captures unsuspected detail in the faintest deep-sky objects, while remaining fluid to use thanks to its manual Dobson mount. All in a retractable FlexTube design for easy transport and storage.
NEW : supplied with two wide-angle eyepieces (12.5 mm and 20 mm - 70° field of view), a 1.25″ adapter with brass clamping ring to protect your eyepieces, a universal smartphone adapter, plus a Crayford 2″ double-speed eyepiece holder for fine focusing, even at high magnification.
The system Retractable FlexTube allows the tube to be reduced in length from 168.5 cm to just 107.1 cm. This foldable design makes transporting a 406 mm much more accessible. Once in the viewing position, the 3-point locking system ensures perfect rigidity.
Dobson's wooden alt-azimuth mount rests on a fluid swivel base, allowing intuitive manual star tracking. This proven concept, popularized by John Dobson, makes this telescope quick to assemble, simple to use, and extremely stable - no electronics, no motors, just observing pleasure.
The primary mirror parabolic with RAQ™ (Radiant Aluminum Quartz) coating offers reflectivity up to 94 % for bright, sharp, high-contrast images. The ultra-thin secondary support (0.5 mm) minimizes diffraction, guaranteeing great sharpness in deep-sky stars and structures. This telescope is a benchmark for both high-magnification planetary observations and diffuse nebulae.
