L'Esprit-70EDX is based on a carefully corrected f/7 triplet optic, including a central lens in Hoya FCD100 glassequivalent to the FPL-53. This type of design enables perfect correction of chromatic aberration, even on bright stars, with exceptional contrast.
Air-glass surfaces are treated with the exclusive MHTC (Metallic High Transmission Coating)guaranteeing 99.5 luminous transmittance % and images that are bright, sharp and free from unwanted glare.
The Esprit-70EDX's compactness (a tube of just 368 mm with retracted lens hood) and light weight (3.2 kg) make it an ideal travel companion for mobile astrophotographers. The 2.8" Linear Power CNC rack-and-pinion eyepiece holder is designed to support heavy cameras without any play, with 11:1 microfocuser and built-in rotary adapter for framing adjustment.
A reducer / corrector 0.92x (ref. 20332, optional) is available to optimize field correction and reduce the focal length to around 450 mm.
